Nail fungus occurs because of infection caused by fungi. As a primary symptom of this disease white, black or yellow spots occur on the tip of your fingernail or toenail .Nail Fungus infection spreads by eating up your skin tissue. If fungus infection grows uncontrollably, it causes your nail to thicken and the nail develops crumbling edges, and it also causes intolerable pain. These infections are developed on nails which are continuously exposed to moist and warm environment such as sweaty shoes and wet floor and places which are frequently visited by people barefooted.

There are several treatments available for infections caused by fungi, from pills to simple household solutions. The use of such treatments should not be taken lightly and recommendations given by doctors must be followed. Doctors recommend several oral treatments such as itraconazole, terminafine and fluconazole.

These techniques help us to grow new nails. But such treatment may take more than one year and the probability of fungus developing again cannot be negated. Other treatment available in market is topical treatment which involves use of specific creams to be applied on infected area. Doctor may also suggest treatment like antifungal lacquer, in which doctor may prefer to prescribe antifungal nail polish like ciclopirox.
